Meet Donny Falls, Snowmaker
For the past 20 years Donny Falls has been part of the snowmaking crew at Wintergreen. When you talk to Donny about making snow, he gets a twinkle in his eye. He knows that making snow is an art and he’s a master artist. Each year Mother Nature brings a different twist and challenge, but Donny and the rest of the crew find the magic mix of water, air and cold temperatures and produce a real work of art, beautiful skiing and riding conditions. Now that the cold temperatures are back, Donny is in what he calls the "expand the empire" mode. The crew is working around the clock to get down as much new snow for this weekend with the goal of opening new terrain for our guests. And they’ll continue to add terrain and build the base for the rest of the season. Keep an eye on the slope report - we hope to open Highlands on Sunday!
